Given the age she seems to be stuck at, I am not surprised, and only mildly mortified that she did. Pray tell, what did she want?

She was mostly concerned with my intentions for you. I believe she wanted to defend your honor, or at least make sure you were getting a meal out of it.

[Give him a second to just. Facepalm.]

That child is going to be the ruination of us all, mark my words...

Oh, it's not that bad. She's trying to take care of you, silly as it is. [Giggling is probably not helping, Carnelian.]

I don't think defending your virtue is going to doom us all.

That I am not so concerned with. She is highly impulsive, and never seems to draw on the council of those older than her. I worry it will get us into circumstances we cannot handle...

[He shakes his head.]

Listen to me, prattling on about such gloominess when you've made all this effort. Let us turn to happier subjects, yes?

It's not like I can blame you for the cynicism. Have you...remembered anything yet?

[Rubbing at her cheek. Look, let us assume she begged Obsidian or Waldemar for a suitably fancy dinner, so there's food. And maybe wine.]

A pair of memories, although how useful either might be is a matter best left up to debate. It seems that whatever my life was before, it is not wholly different from the one I lead now... A touch prettier in terms of landscape, though. And the echoes are far less ridiculous patrons than ones I have had before.

Oh? Phrasing it like that only makes me curious, you know.

Does the phrase "a gentleman is, rather than does" hold any meaning for you?

I don't remember it, yet, for some reason I feel a deep, reflexive need to duck for cover?

You've the right of it, then. We were attempting to find a lost heir to an industrialist fortune, and when we did find him, he had convinced himself he was one of the walking dead - and had instructing the actual undead in the area on how to properly behave as gentlemen.

His assistant's idea of how to properly rouse him from this muddled state was a not insignificant amount of explosives.

...The pieces we have of our world, between the two of us, paint a very confusing picture.

[Leaning her chin in one hand.] My last memory involved why I have red streaks in my hair. The one before that...I'd have called it the end of the world, but it's at least several years before anything else I've remembered, so clearly not. And then there's what you remember...

...We're saving a very strange world, I feel.

I also recall hunting for magical stones with you, and Magpie, and Lily, and nearly a half-score others. Something about good deeds in the name of the Zodiac Braves... It all made little sense.

...Perhaps we should pool together what we all remember of each other. I remember Magpie, if not Lily specifically...and at least two other Mi'qote.

And I remember you, I think that's already been established.

In addition to those present here in Kyriakos I recall two other mi'qote and a large Elezen, at least. I believe we were part of something quite grand.

Something grand, is it? I wonder if that's related to how I outrank you... [Rosie don't say that out loud you don't want to answer those questions.]

I do remember that I've killed at least one primal, before. That's how my summons are made--bound shards of the essence of slain primals.

It's possible. It appears from my memories I was some manner of field leader, but not the man in charge of the operations.

As for primals... I recall nothing of the sort.

[Rubbing at her neck. Well those are awkward puzzle pieces.] I...I think I might be the one you're looking for.

Well, even if that is the case, I'm sure you will understand that I am not especially likely to follow orders until we return to our world.

One, I've no interest in giving those orders, not here, two, I'm not sure how well you follow them there, either.

A field agent who thinks for themselves and interprets orders as necessary is worth their weight in gold, no?

[queencrimson]

I don't argue your effectiveness...I have absolute faith that you're probably better at your job than I am. I'm just saying you don't seem like a man who cares much for things like 'propriety' and 'not sassing your commanding officer'.

Nonsense. Propriety has it's place, when protecting the chain of command from outside scrutiny. It just may not particularly be the best for working within the system. I'm not one to suffer because someone insisted we stand on ceremony.
