Memory: SigManderville; Manderville Men
Regained: Day 144, Nyssa
Summary: This is stupid.

She hated Northern Thanalan.

It wasn't just the still-looming Castrum, or the constant stench of ceruleam and voidsent. Nor was it just the heat and endless grey expanse of the northern reaches of the desert. Really, Rosalyn noted, it was because every single time she came here something terrible happened. The last time, Carm had beaten a chimera half to death with a frying pan.

And today. Oh, today. She sighed--she had agreed to help the young Hildebrand Manderville because his intentions were truly honest, and besides that, this duelist and phantom thief were truly a concern. And to be honest, she didn't begrudge helping Miss Maria repair the shattered vase in the slightest. No, that wasn't the problem...

The body of the chimera was clearly freshly killed, and it was a large and somewhat magnificent specimen of the monsters. What was most noticeable about the corpse was, in fact, the goldsmith's hammer buried in one of it's heads. This, Hildebrand had told them, was a sign the goldsmith they sought would be nearby. But to gain his attention, one of them had to dance.

The moment he'd mentioned that, [Axe] and [Lily] had, in unison, shoved her forward.

"She loves to dance," [Lily] had helpfully pointed out.

"She is our leader, and will take full responsibility," [Axe] had volunteered, in the same breath.

In the end, a fight had broken out and the result was that they would all learn the dance. And perform it thus. It wasn't that [Lily] had lied--she did love dancing. But this dance was a little bit...stupid. Still, they were assured this was the only way, and so, pride at an all-time low, they did the dance of the Manderville Men.

Nothing could have prepared her for what happened next. Their gyrations, it seemed, had summoned something she almost swore was a primal, or at least the most naked highlander she'd ever seen. He was in...impressive shape, for his age, muscles glistening in the light, and Rosalyn had flashbacks to a terrifyingly naked man at Bronze Lake, who she'd had to oil down.

Oh, no.

Hildebrand's sudden retreat, and the goldsmith's pursuit, only gave her more questions than it did answer. This man was Hildebrand's father, and the famed Godbert Manderville? She was too dazed to realize what he was doing to Maria's vase was more than repairs until it was far, far too late.

"...Well, it certainly is a lovely piece..." She murmured, pressing a hand to her face. She had a headache. She needed a drink.

"It would be worth quite a sum, were it to be sold," [Magpie] commented, and shrugged. "That should please the girl's mother."

"I'm...I'm sure the effort to save the vase will be appreciated?" Added a smaller Mi'qote, who had stayed near [Lily] the entire venture as if unsure Godbert would not ultimately attack them all. Rosalyn just sighed, and gestured to follow Hildebrand when he exclaimed they should return to Vesper Bay.

"We'll find out, won't we?"
